📋 NEET 2027 Exam Pattern
NEET 2027 will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode, as announced by the Education Minister on 15 May 2026. This replaces the pen-and-paper (OMR) format used until the Re-NEET 2026. The exam will cover Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology).
| Subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | 45 | 180 |
| Chemistry | 45 | 180 |
| Biology (Botany + Zoology) | 90 | 360 |
| Total | 180 | 720 |
All 180 questions are compulsory. From NEET 2025, NTA removed the optional Section B (introduced during COVID) and returned to the 180-minute, 180-question format — Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Botany 45, Zoology 45. NEET 2025 ran for 180 minutes, and the Re-NEET 2026 ran from 2:00 to 5:15 PM (3 hours 15 minutes). NTA has not announced the duration for NEET 2027, so check its Information Bulletin. The 180-question, +4/−1 structure is expected to continue.

Negative marking means guessing without elimination is risky. If you can eliminate 2 options, attempting the question is statistically worth it.
🎯 How to Prepare for NEET 2027
NEET preparation is a 10–14 month commitment. Here is what works:
NCERT first
Read every line of NCERT Biology, Chemistry and Physics. 90%+ of NEET questions come directly from NCERT.
Chapter-wise practice
Solve questions topic by topic. Don't jump to full tests before finishing all chapters.
PYQs are non-negotiable
NEET repeats patterns. Solving 10 years of PYQs shows you exactly what NTA asks.
Mock tests from Month 6
Full-length, timed mock tests build exam stamina and expose weak chapters.
Revision > new topics
The last 3 months are for revision, not new material. Flashcards and short notes win here.
