NEET CBT Mock Test 2027Practise the computer-based format, free

By the RankUp team, founded by Dr. Deepak Sahu (MBBS Gold Medalist, NEET PG AIR 1731) · Updated

NEET is set to move from OMR sheets to a computer-based test (CBT) from 2027. Our full mock tests already run the way a CBT does: one question on screen, a question palette, mark for review, clear response, a countdown timer and auto-submit. Take them on a computer now so exam day feels familiar.

Is NEET 2027 CBT confirmed?

Announced, details pending. The Education Minister announced on 15 May 2026, after the NEET 2026 paper leak, that NEET-UG would be computer-based from 2027. The number of exam days and shifts, the duration and how scores across shifts will be compared will only be fixed in NTA's NEET 2027 Information Bulletin. Check neet.nta.nic.in and our NEET 2027 guide, which we update when it is out.

How the CBT screen works

What you will use in our mock tests, and what to get comfortable with before the real exam.

Question palette

Every question number, grouped by subject. Tap one to jump to it. Colours show where you stand:

  • Answered
  • Marked for review
  • Not answered yet

Buttons you will use

  • Mark for review: flag a question to come back to.
  • Clear response: remove an answer you are no longer sure of. A blank costs 0, a wrong answer −1.
  • Prev / Next: move one question at a time.
  • Submit: end the test. It submits itself when the timer reaches zero.

6 ways to get ready for a CBT

  1. Take full mocks on a laptop or desktop with a mouse, not only on your phone.
  2. Do a first pass answering what you know, marking the rest for review, then return using the palette.
  3. Practise long Biology statements and Physics diagrams on screen: reading on a monitor is slower than on paper at first.
  4. Work numericals on a rough sheet next to the keyboard, the way you will at the centre.
  5. Watch the on-screen timer: aim to finish your first pass with about 30 minutes left.
  6. Before submitting, check the palette for questions marked for review that you never answered.

Questions about NEET CBT

Is NEET 2027 going to be computer-based?

The Education Minister announced on 15 May 2026, after the NEET 2026 paper leak, that NEET-UG would move to computer-based testing (CBT) from 2027. NTA has not yet published the NEET 2027 Information Bulletin, which will confirm the mode and details such as the number of days and shifts. Practising on screen now costs nothing either way.

Will the syllabus or marking change because of CBT?

No change has been announced. CBT changes how you answer, not what is asked: the syllabus is the NMC NEET-UG syllabus and the 180-question, +4/−1 pattern is expected to continue.

If NEET is held in shifts, how will scores be compared?

NTA has not said. Exams it runs in several shifts, such as JEE Main, use percentile-based normalisation, but NEET 2027 details will only be known from its Information Bulletin.

Are these CBT mock tests free?

Yes. Every full mock test on RankUp is free, runs in your browser and needs no signup. You get your score by subject and every solution as soon as you submit.

Should I practise on a phone or a computer?

The tests work on both, but the real exam is on a desktop computer. Take at least a few full mocks on a laptop or desktop with a mouse so the screen, scrolling and palette feel familiar on exam day.
